yes, the original plan on day one was for me to blog and practice typing in chinese... but hey, i've eaten SOOO many of my words since our little bun popped out of the oven, why not do it again?! AND we've only just started *with our fingers crossed* to get some relatively more consolidated sleep over here, it would only be wise to go easy on myself for the sake of maintaining sanity!
pink are for girls and blue are for boys...
the most recent 'eating my own words' incident happened last week when a good friend took me to costco for their baby sleepers sale... and the lesson i learned from the experience-- never say never! well, ever since i found out it was a girl i was carrying in my tummy, i've been 'hinting' to people about how a girl doesn't have to wear pink *all the time* and that the baby's mama is never really a 'girly girl', blah blah blah! in actual fact, i only made the 'it's a girl!' announcement official on the day of the baby shower in hopes that there will be more neutral colours in her wardrobe *wink* tee hee hee, my 三姑姐 knows me so well-- when she bought these funky shoe-socks for lumlum, she chose the sports ones over the ballerina ones=)

zzzzzzzzzzzz...
and did i mention how gung-ho we were about sleep-training *read: before lumlum was born* that we genuinely entertained the idea of letting baby sleep in the storage by herself (we live in a one-bedroom apartment) because that and that alone constitutes the road to independence?! during pregnancy, whenever the idea of co-sleeping was introduced, i would strongly stand my ground and politely recite my speech on 'how independence is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children, and how it can be very difficult for them to get out of their comfort zone if we allow any form of pampering, and how it would only make sense to start training them right at the very beginning, blah blah blah!' well, after witnessing this baby's ability to cry&scream at the top of her lungs in an uninterrupted manner for 2 hours (and got so worked up one time that she actually vomited), and being a sleep-research junkie for months, and enduring those brutal 1-to-2-hour-stretches night after night, we sort of jumped ship and have been shamelessly identifying ourselves with the 'by-all-means-necessary-so-everyone-can-get-some-sleep' camp... haha, something to work on later, i suppose=)
more eaten or waiting-to-be-eaten words to come...
ps-- to come... sometime in the near future, hopefully! this post was started 3 months ago and i only got around to finishing it now ^__^;;
